COVID-19 Response: May 15, 2020
Hello Families,
We are now offering online videos and ZOOM Classes. Additionally we have worked with our families and PTAs in offering virtual classes for those that were missed due to the state mandated closures.
As we continue to plan for activities and camps, we will make adjustments in adherence with CDC guidelines, King County Public Health, the Governor's Office and in collaboration with other agencies.
With that in mind, we want to hear your thoughts about your family's involvement at this time. Please take this survey and help us understand our community's needs as we approach the summer months and continue to evaluate our response to COVID-19.

What are we doing to keep our students and staff safe for online classes?
We would like to take this time to inform all of you about our Safety and Cleaning Procedures which we use in all of our classes as well as our Kitchen Facility in order to keep our students, their families, staff and community safe.
Currently our team is practicing social distancing or working remotely when applicable. All food is being purchased and prepped by families.

What are we doing to keep our students & staff safe in future camps & classes?
- Creating additional safety measures are in place (increased cleaning practices, hand sanitizer, staff equipped in PPE).
- We are considering smaller cohort and class sizes.
- Exploring physical distancing procedures during the camp.
- Performing staff and participant daily wellness checks.
- Provide individual portions, supplies, and tools rather than sharing to support a social distancing model.
- Instructors handing out more ingredients to help minimize student’s possible contact with each other’s food.
Our Food Safety Standards!
We take proper food handling and safety seriously and we are diligent about sanitation inside and outside of our classes.
At schools, before and during class, our Instructors are doing the following:
At our Kitchen/Office:
We are asking for your help, if your child is showing any symptoms of being sick, to please keep them home and not attending class that day.
At schools, before and during class, our Instructors are doing the following:
- Disinfecting all surfaces and touch points in the space/classroom with a food-safe disinfectant spray.
- We use and change our towels and paper towels often while cleaning to limit possible cross- contamination.
- Before students enter the space they wash their hands. We review proper hand washing techniques, reminders to keep hands away from faces and to use an elbow for a cough or sneeze, and then wash hands.
- Students also wash their hands, somewhere between 3-4 times, throughout our entire class period.
- Our Instructors wear gloves and change them frequently while they clean, unpack, handle any food and all throughout class.
- Class sauces are all brought up to and maintain a simmer for at least 15 minutes.
At our Kitchen/Office:
- All our staff have food handlers cards and receive additional quarterly training on best practices when working in a classroom setting.
- We wash all our produce in a vinegar bath assuring disinfection and safe produce.
- All our meat is fully cooked, brought to temperature, and properly cooled.
- We are disinfecting everyday on all touch points and equipment throughout our entire space.
- We have been and are continuing to deep clean and sanitize our entire work space, all tools, equipment and supplies.
- We disinfect our equipment that goes out to schools daily, like our brooms, carts, bins, and class binders/ tools.
- We follow a strict policy with our staff, by asking those who are showing any signs, or living with anyone showing any signs of being sick to stay vigilant and stay home.
