Regarding the current E. coli outbreak:
Update 5/7/18:
Beginning this week, we will start using whole romaine lettuce for our Taco Salads. We are confidant that both our supplier and farm is providing safe produce.
04/22/18
We do use romaine lettuce for our salads. All our Romaine comes from Tanimura & Antle Farms. We have contacted Cash & Carry and confirmed that all our lettuce purchased this month have come from their Californian farms and not Yuma Arizona farms.
Rainy Day Dinner Club takes food safety and the safety of your families very seriously, we wash all produce in a vinegar-water bath and follow with a thorough fresh water rinse.
We've had no reports of our families being sick however, if you or your family are experiencing any e. coli symptoms please seek medical attention.
Advice to Consumers: https://www.cdc.gov/ecoli/2018/o157h7-04-18/index.html
Although Tanimura & Antle has not been contacted by any agency related to this outbreak. At this time, we’re following the advice of the CDC and choosing not to purchase or make Salads this week.
This week all classes will prepare Indian Stew. No salads will be made for sessions starting this week.
Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions or concerns. 425.463.5290
